Hydrogen Cyanide production assay

• Overnight culture supplemented with glycine (4.4g/L)
• Attach filter paper to underside of Petri dish lid
• Flood filter paper with 0.5% picric acid in 2% sodium carbonate
• Incubate for 7 days at 28C
• After incubation observe color of filter paper
  • change from yellow to orange/red indicates HCN production @33
