Starch casein agar (SCA)
For the isolation of Actinomycetes and starch degrading microbes
Step 1:
SCA agar recipe
- 400 mL DI-H2O
- 5.0 g starch
- 0.15 g casein
- 0.01 g CaCO3
- 50 mL Solution A
- 50 mL Solution B
- 7.5 g agar
- Autoclave at 121 °C and 15 psi for 30 min.
- Pour plates (unless making broth, then don't do that, it will be a mess)
